A QUESTION OF GRAVITY came about when I found three spoons in a goodwill that were so worn from use that I was astonished; they were pitted and eroded at the ends dramatically, as if they’d been used in a prison escape. I held the three together to create a niche and this unusual reliquary was off and running. I mounted the teeth as a dentist would in a mouth, by creating metal posts that insert into the porcelain, to be cemented in place.

The twine was indigo-dyed by my good friend Adele Outteridge in Brisbane.

This piece was revived and reconstructed in 2021 after being heavily damaged by Australian Customs in 2016.
